Pulmonary function test is a complete evaluation of the respiratory system including patient history, physical examinations, and tests of pulmonary function. The primary purpose of pulmonary function testing is to identify the severity of pulmonary impairment.

Pulmonary function testing at Inspire Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Specialists is administered by one of our registered/certified respiratory therapists. This test allows our physicians to gain a better understanding of a patient’s lung capacity and restrictions, if any.

This test can also assist in determining the effectiveness of respiratory medications by performing pre-medicated and post-medicated pulmonary function testing.
